Research and Education in Nephrology

About us
The D’Amico Foundation for Kidney Research has been founded in December 2004 by Professor Giuseppe D'Amico and his wife Anna Maria Allegri to develop the research and educational activities previously carried out by the "Associazione per l’Aggiornamento e la Ricerca in Nefrologia e Metodiche Dialitiche", where Professor Giuseppe D’Amico, for 30 years, has been the President and the Leader.

As it clearly comes from the name of the Foundation, its principal aim is research in Nephrology. To accomplish this specific aim, the Foundation finances the activities of experimental and clinical research of the Renal Research Laboratory, carried out by personnel belonging to the Foundation.

Other institutional aims of the D’Amico Foundation are educational and training activities, and scientific dissemination in Nephrology, Dialysis, and Renal Transplantation.

The D'Amico Foundation belongs to two University Research Consortia:
CORIPREMEND - Consortium for Research, Prevention and Treatment of Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases
CONSORZIO M.I.A., Consortium for Development of Microscopy and Image Analysis in Biomedical and Tecnological Sciences.

Thanks to an official agreement with Fondazione IRCCS "Ospedale Maggiore, Policlinico, Mangiagalli e Regina Elena", the new Renal Research Laboratory has been created, and will be fully operative in the Summer 2008.
